John and Nancy McKearney launched a bakery café in 1996 that has since evolved into a thriving wholesale business. Today, Tucson-based Bakehouse Bread Company produces over 3 million loaves annually from its 25,000-square-foot facility, with sweet bread varieties like Zucchini and Coconut Key Lime sold at Fry’s, Safeway, Albertsons, and through Kroger’s private label in other states.
